Making of the December Craft Box

Wow! As all December Craft Boxes have been posted and started getting delivered I got a bit nostalgic. Wow! It’s been a great journey so far. Yes, sometimes stressful and sometimes tiring but I really enjoyed it overall. Lets look back at the making of December Craft Box…

I started planning the December Box right after the November boxes were posted. In retrospective, it was probably too late and January Box has been planned so much earlier because I know better now!

The theme of December Craft Box, Ornately Vintage, came to me really easily – I love vintage and LOVE everything that’s ornate. There were items in my craft stash that I knew will be perfect for this box. I reached out to my suppliers as soon as I could to order extra quantity, enough to fill all the December boxes.

Once the products started arriving, it was time to pack them all up. The packaging cards were red to celebrate this festive month. It took a while to get everything prepared. Specifically the lace appliqué and flowers were the most tricky to pack! They kept getting stuck at the sides of the cello bags.

I had my mind set on a few things this month – I wanted the box to be white to symbolise the snow and to contrast with the red tissue paper and packaging. Even though the box was not Christmas themed, I still included a few Christmas touches and more than anything I wanted to have a way of wishing you all Merry Christmas – hence the little journaling cards and the cute Christmasy pegs!

If you are wondering what it takes to put a Craft Box together, I can confidently say – it takes more time, research and effort than I thought! It takes around 15-20h to research products and purchase anything that’s pre-made. Then the packaging needs to be designed and ordered. Craft Boxes and postage boxes are ordered along with cello bags and packaging tape. Then everything needs to be packaged – and with me being a perfectionist, it all needs to look beautiful and should be visually pleasing! All handmade products need to be created – in December Craft Box, each resin frame took nearly 24h to make!

Once all is done and packaged in cello bags, I write your cards and create the “what’s inside of your box” info sheet. All products are put in the boxes, wrapped in tissue paper and sealed. Your Craft Box is ribbon tied. Your cards and gifts either go inside the box or are put on top of it. Posting box is sealed, I handwrite your postage label and then the boxes are posted. Phew!

Bring on January Craft Boxes!!!

December Craft Box Packing Progress

Hello there Crafty Friends!

The January Craft Box has been announced a few days ago but we have not forgotten the December Craft Box. It has been so exciting to work on it as I love all things vintage (the December Craft Box theme is Ornately Vintage). The box contains some of my favourite products and a few great finds. We are in the final stages of packing and a great majority of products is ready and neatly stacked in the very cute (mint green in colour!) wooden crates. I am waiting for two final deliveries which are expected at the end of this week. I wish I took a few more pictures last weekend when we were packing the goodies (taking a mental note for January Box) but here are some pictures of products and process I have taken:

I cannot wait for your reaction when you receive your box!

Until then – happy crafting!

January Craft Box – Why “Hello, New!”?

Dear Crafty Friends,

January Craft Box is finally here. I really struggled with keeping all the excitement in and wanted to announce the box as soon as I finished planning it, but January box needed to wait till at least December!

We have so many exciting products inside and the overarching theme is “Hello, New!”. This box will symbolise new beginnings (as it is the first Craft Box box in 2016). The colour palette I’ve picked is bright, vibrant and fun. It has some of my ultimate favourite colours in it – mint greens and turquoise. It will have many themed items symbolising new ideas, new adventures, travel and memories. As always, there will be some signature bling, set of mulberry flowers but also, some ever so popular foiled die cuts!

In general, January Craft Box’s selection of products is the widest to date. We have everything a seasoned crafter could wish for – stamp set (really!), set of small stamps on a rolling stamp, perfect for journaling. We will have patterned tissue paper, brads, ever so expensive enamel dots (why are they so expensive?!), novelty beads, crystal charms and so much more.

As I’m writing this, I’m still packing the December box so I have yet to look forward to your reaction once it is received before 20th December, but I’m also eagerly awaiting the time when January Craft Box is posted your way. I hope you will love it.

Happy crafting!

That Thing Called Craft Box

Hi Everyone!

Let me start from introducing myself – my name is Anna and I’m a crafter of 10 years. I started my adventure with all things handmade by buying a cheap box full of paper and tiny wooden stamps from The Works. My first handmade cards were very basic but I had fun making them. From then on my collection of craft items has increased and my craft interests got broader. I started scrapbooking, tried beading and eventually favoured creating mixed media canvases.

But, enough about me! I wanted to tell you what Craft Box is and why I decided to found it.

For a long while now I felt that, specifically in UK, we are lacking a good card making and scrapbooking box. As a crafter I really wanted to find a box I could get excited about and subscribe to but I could;t find a service that would cater to my quite broad craft interest. After several long months of debating over this, I decided to create such box myself.

We are now on the second month of Craft Box journey and I could’t be more proud of how it is going. I’m so glad that the fish Craft Box buyers were happy with their box and decided to pre-order the next box. I really hope that Craft Box can make every crafter who buys it proud.

Until next time!
